Printables on Etsy

The easiest door into the American market is the one with no parcel behind it. A printable is a file your customer buys, downloads and prints at home — no stock, no customs form, no tariff, no dented corner. This course takes you from your first design to a shop that sells while you sleep.

Six modules · Twelve lessons · Bilingual (EN / 日本語)

Printed planner pages, journaling cards and washi tape arranged on a pale wooden desk beside a laptop in a Japanese studio

If any of this sounds familiar…

  • You want American customers, but the shipping maths keeps stopping you.
  • You cannot risk printing three hundred units to test whether the US even wants them.
  • You have beautiful designs sitting in a folder doing nothing.
  • You opened an Etsy shop, listed three things, and nothing happened.
  • You are not sure your files will even print correctly on American paper.

What you'll learn

What Americans actually buy

The categories that sell on Etsy, the seasons that drive them, and how to read real demand from listings instead of guessing.

Designs only you could make

Scanned washi, hanko stamps, kōgyōshi grids and your own palette — the Japanese aesthetic Americans already pay a premium for.

Files that print correctly

US Letter and A4 from one layout, 300 dpi, safe zones, RGB, and the instruction sheet that prevents most refund requests.

Opening a shop from Japan

Etsy registration, JPY or USD, a Japanese bank account, the full fee stack, and how tax works on both sides.

Etsy search and images

Thirteen tags in American vocabulary, and the ten images that sell a product nobody can hold.

Pricing, licensing and care

Dollar price bands, commercial licence tiers, bundles, and six English replies that handle almost every message.

Questions

Can I really sell on Etsy from Japan?

Yes. Etsy supports Japanese sellers: you register with your Japanese address, connect a Japanese bank account, and Etsy Payments handles the buyer's card. Digital goods are delivered automatically, so there is nothing to post.

Do I need to be good at design software?

No. The course works with Canva Pro, Affinity or Adobe — the software matters far less than the two-size file discipline and the fact that you own genuinely beautiful paper to scan.

Isn't the printables market saturated?

The generic middle is. Almost nobody is selling authentically Japanese printables built from real washi, tape and stamps — which is exactly the aesthetic American journalers hunt for and pay a premium to own.

How does this fit with your other courses?

Printables are the front door. Every buyer becomes a verified American customer who has already chosen your aesthetic — the perfect audience for your physical products once you are ready to ship.
